Is Your Passport Valid for at Least 6 Months After Your Vacation Ends?

Is your passport valid for at least 6 months AFTER your scheduled return home?

Sadly, many learn this lesson the hard way, by not being able to take their trip as scheduled.  We recently learned of yet another traveler, flying into an international destination, but he was turned away at a US airport because his passport expired less than 6 months after he was due to return from his trip.  This rule does not apply to all countries but please have your travel agent check to make sure your destination will be enjoyed without passport worries.

So what can you do if you need to travel and your passport expires less than 6 months after your scheduled return?  First, you'll want to make sure that the country you're visiting adheres to this rule.  Second, as soon as you are aware of the issue, schedule an emergency appointment with your passport agency to obtain a new one.  New passport's can be obtained in as little as a day to three days with an expedited fee.

Note: Some countries count the passport expiration window from the date of entry into their country, others count the expiration from the date of departure, so we say to make sure it is 6 months from the date of departure to be safe!

Restaurant Week in Seattle!!! April 7-11 & 14-18, 2013

Seattle Restaurant Week's  (SRW) promotion occurs semi-annually, in April and then again in October.  Our April fabulous food festivities starts Tomorrow, Sunday, April 7th, 2013.  During SRW, which spans 10 days,  you are able to dine at dine at OVER 160 restaurants spread across Seattle (King County).  Guests are able to dine at the participating restaurants and partake in a three-course menu for $28 per person.  Some of the participating restaurants are also offering a three-course lunch menu for $15 per person.  This celebration of food occurs April 7-11, 2013 and then April 14-18, 2013.  This promotion EXCLUDES Fridays, Saturdays & Sunday Brunch.

To take part in the SRW's food promotion you simply visit your participating restaurant throughout the 10 day period to enjoy the special $28 menu.  Although reservations are not required, it is strongly recommended that diners make reservations (If accepted) with your restaurant of choice, in advance, by contacting the restaurant directly.
